Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon. In 2008 nearly 22,000 runners completed the race. Registration for the 2009 Boston Marathon will begin on September 3 at 9 a.m. (ET). The field will be limited to the first 25,000 entrants.

Boston Marathon

Presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund and showcasing Boston and Brookline's Emerald Necklace park system, the eighth annual B.A.A. Half Marathon was held on October 12. Charles Munyeki of Kenya was the first of an event-record 3,702 finishers. He completed the race in 1:02:46.
